Hawaiian French Toast

For an easy brunch with an unusual twist, try these Hawaiian pizza inspired 'French Toasts'. Also known in the UK by the less glamorous name of Eggy Bread, French Toast is a old breakfast staple we felt could do with a bit of invigorating. Enter Hawaii. 

 
 

Hawaiian French Toast

Ingredients
Hearty sliced loaf
Eggs & milk, whisked 50/50 with a little salt & pepper
Sliced ham
Pineapple rings (2 per bread slice)
Grated or sliced cheese
Chives, minced

1. Dip bread. Dip bread slices in the egg and milk mix. For a more puddingy consistency allow the bread to soak briefly in the mixture.

2. Sear bread and pineapple. Place bread slices on a medium-high heat area of the Anvil. Place pineapple rings (2 per bread slice) on a high-heat area. Sear both rings and bread, flipping occasionally until golden brown both sides. 

3. Assemble. Place 2 slices of ham on French Toast. Add a pineapple ring, some cheese, and then another pineapple ring. Scatter with chives. Serve immediately.
